Saheliyon ki Bari or the translation in English would be garden of maids is one of the best gardens in Udaipur. This place was built by Maharana Sangram Singh in the desert lands and was built in the 18th Century for the royal ladies of Mewar. As the saying goes, the king built this garden to gift it to the queen as she brings 48 maids with her after the marriage.   1. Fateh Sagar Lake

The second largest lake in the Udaipur which was artificially built by Maharana Jai Singh in 1678 and got its name from Maharana Fateh Singh. The lake is  11.5 meters deep and extends 2.4 km in length and 1.6 km in breadth. The lake is opposite site of Moti Magri Mahal.

There is three islands in the lake, one of them have a zoo and boat-shaped restaurant which is known as Nehru park. There are three intake channels and one overflow channel in the lake which looks amazing in the monsoon. This gallery is situated in the Fateh Prakash Palace. This one of the best places to visit in Udaipur if you have taste in the art. Its known as a single largest private collection of crystal across the world. This place was built in 1877 by Maharana Sajjan Singh.

This place has so many things to see like perfume bottles, dinnerware, glasses, objects d’art, furniture, decanters and even a crystal bed which is only one in the world. The crystal ware was design just for the royal family and it was the crest of Mewar etched on it carefully. Photography is not allowed and there will an entry fees.   1. Eklingji Temple

This place needs to be on the list of places to visit in Udaipur. this temple was date back to 7th century and it has a complex of 108 temples surrounding it. this temple was built in 734 A.D. by Bappa Rawal and then it was destroyed and renovated many times by ruler of Mewar.

This place is architecture wonder and even if you don’t want to visit this place just for the tem[ple, you will fall love with this ancient place. There are lots of history which deciphered into that wall and the whole places have an aura of fragrance which makes you fall in love with this place.   1. Vintage Car Museum

This place has one of the unique vintage car collection. Those cars were own by Maharanas of Mewar which was the only cars in those times. This is one is one of the best places to visit in Udaipur if you love vintage cars.

They have a garage for each car and there are 22 cars in total. The vintage car museum including a seven-seat 1938 Cadillac complete with purdah system, the 1934 Rolls-Royce Phantom used in the Bond film Octopussy, and the Cadillac convertible that takes Queen Elizabeth II to the airport in 1961. This place was open to general public on 15 February 2000.

  1. Kumbhalgarh Fort

This is one of the most visited places in Udaipur. it’s not in Udaipur but rather 60k  away from the city. The wall of the fort is spread across 30km mammoth sized and it’s 1100 meter above the sea level. this fort is unconquered and served well to all those kings of Mewar and its also birthplace of great Maharana Pratap.

This fort is dated back to the 6th century but then fort was built around the 14th century and it had held many enemies and their renovation. There is much to see and walk around. As it fort was last resort and always on the frontline, they have many technics and weapons and tricks to stop the enemy. According to popular folklore, Maharana Kumbha used to burn massive lamps that consumed fifty kilograms of ghee and a hundred kilograms of cotton to provide light for the farmers who worked during the nights in the valley. Who would have not heard of the famous war of Haldighati and sacrifice of the Chetak the horse. This is one of the most famous places to visit in Udaipur. Haldighati is a mountain pass in the Aravalli range, connecting the districts of Rajsamand and Pali. The famous Haldighati war was held between Rana Pratap Singh of Mewar and Raja Man Singh of Amber in 1576.
